How long have you been at the university and what’s your current role?

This academic year begins my 18th year at Northwestern. I started in Fall of 2006

What’s your favorite part of the job?

Meeting and interacting with grads and undergrads, attending really interesting talks, and of course having great co-workers!

What’s your secret talent?

Trapeze! Actually, I wouldn’t say it’s a talent… but I’ve done classes before and really enjoyed them!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to visit Chicago museums and parks with my husband and 3 kiddos. I’m also a big foodie-(with a particular interest in desserts!) so living in Chicago gives me lots of opportunities to try new things.

What is your perfect idea of a relaxing day?

Hanging out with friends in someone’s backyard and grilling

For people looking to try out something new (food, TV shows, places, etc.), what would you recommend?

Food: there’s a really great restaurant for birria tacos in Chicago called Birrieria Zaragoza – they used to have just one location on the southwest side but recently opened a new location in Uptown at Broadway and Lawrence

Places: well, around this time I always recommend people check out the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen for their annual Día de Muertos exhibit
