Event Series
Farm to Fable
This a storytelling series home to our staff recipe book. Multiple times a year, we host an hour-long lunchtime event where our chosen presenter shares a recipe and a story related to that recipe. There are no rules to the stories – they can be nostalgic, technical, historical… you name it. Presentations are anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes (whatever is comfortable), followed by an open sharing of stories and observations from the audience that arise from the presentation. And of course, there is eating to be done!
Show and Tell
Show and Tell is a quarterly professional development series. Each quarter, we meet over lunch to dive into topics like graphic design, work-life balance, or working with undergraduates. We recruit presenters from across Weinberg and the university to to tell their story, demo a trick, or walk us through a process they love. We typically feature four to five mini-presentations per session, followed by an open Q&A and group discussion where everyone can chime in with thoughts, questions, or their own experiences.
We are always looking for suggestions for our next Show and Tell topic, so please reach out if there’s anything you’d like to hear about, or share!

Mental Health Fair
Once a year we press pause and gather to decompress, relieve some stress, and focus on our well-being. During this late Summer event, we provide lunch, host a guided conversation with well being experts, and give staff the chance to interact with a variety of well-being stations. We host therapy animals, like dogs and mini horses. We have pinatas. We have crafts and puzzles available. And of course, we have a variety of gathering spaces set up so that staff can connect. There’s no one way to participate—wander, chat, create, observe. Smash a piñata! However you choose to spend the time, it’s all about reconnecting with yourself and your colleagues. Plus… cute animals.
